Alberta's Liberation Day from the NDP will come on April 16th, 2019, but in the meantime, they’re going as low as they possibly can to attack the United Conservative Party.

We’ve seen thirty year old allegations of homophobia, leaked Facebook messages, and accusations of racism and white supremacy galore from the NDP and their enablers in the mainstream media.

But, character assassination is all the NDP really have since they don’t have a record of fiscal competence, economic growth, job creation, pipeline construction, or standing up for Alberta against Trudeau to campaign on.

The rhetoric coming from the NDP camp is over the top and the policy announcements are nearly nonexistent.

Joining me tonight to try to make sense of the NDP hyperbole and innuendo, and to dissect the first week of what is going to be an insufferable 28 days, is William McBeath of Save Calgary.

• It’s funny, isn’t it? Late-night talk show hosts such as Stephen Colbert incessantly dine-out on bashing President Trump, saying that his policies are harming Americans and America. But the facts show otherwise.

Amanda Head drops by to deliver the proof.

• There’s a leftist-fuelled hate-fest raging right now regarding comments made by actor Charlie Hunnam. You see, Charlie lauded Jordan Peterson for saying things that actually make a lot of sense. And for some reason, this is offensive to the progressives?

Next fall, Canada will be plunged into the depths of a Federal election campaign.

That means we have a big job ahead of us - especially for me and my Alberta Rebel colleague, Keean Bexte. The mainstream media in Alberta, with the exception of a select few, has completely abdicated their duty to hold the government to account on behalf of the people.

Instead, the media holds the people to account on behalf of the government, often naming and shaming private citizens who are guilty of “wrong-think” - scolding normal people for not protesting the government in an MSM approved manner, and for not taking the destruction of the Alberta economy (and often their own lives) in stride.

Keean has been making waves since the day he started with us. He punches up, and he is not afraid of a fight, taking on the Alberta Education Minister, David Eggen, for failing Alberta students, and confronting convicted terrorist Omar Khadr outside of the Edmonton courthouse.

Today on the show, in an interview we recorded New Year’s Day, Keean and I discuss some of his favourite stories since he came on board, who takes top spot for worst NDP cabinet minister and to share his plans for 2019.

Almost immediately after taking office, they enacted protectionist policies against beer imports and simultaneously started subsidizing Alberta microbrewers every single month with grants.

It was a poorly thought-out plan to bolster Alberta's small brewing industry that picked winners and losers and brought unintended consequences as importers were then burdened with trying to sell a much more expensive product into a market proliferated with government subsidized beers.

The protectionist policies and beer tax hikes spawned trade disputes between provinces and legal challenges pitting Alberta small businesses against the government.

Trade tribunal after trade tribunal ruled against the government but they persisted with frivolous appeals that kept importers embroiled in expensive legal battles in order to exhaust their resources.

But now, those small businesses have utterly defeated the government, forcing them to repeal their taxes and tariffs, bringing them back to 2015 levels before the government tried to “fix” what was never broken.

And a six pack of beer is about to get a whole lot cheaper in Alberta in 2019.

Joining me tonight to tell her side of the story about how she fought the government behemoth and won, is Bo Vitanov from Artisan Ales.

It’s a homegrown recession caused by two levels of government who have no will or desire to build pipelines to export markets.

Despite all the positive things they’re saying right now about Alberta’s oil and gas, these politicians, Notley and Trudeau, have surrounded themselves with the leading voices of the “No to oil” movement, putting people like Brian Topp, Tzeporah Berman, and Gerald Butts in positions of influence and power over Alberta’s resource sector.

We’ve been fully colonized by the radical environmental movement and now regular families are paying the price.

Job losses, foreclosures, and bankruptcies are all too commonplace.

Trudeau, while in Argentina, even insinuated that Canadian men who work on pipeline construction would cause adverse “social impacts” in rural communities.

However, now the people who orchestrated this catastrophe are saying they are the ones best able to repair it. Trudeau bought a pipeline that wasn’t for sale and stopped the expansion of it, and Notley is cutting oil production by nearly 9 per cent.

It’s exactly what Greenpeace would do if they were in charge. No drilling. No pipelines.

But the people have had enough. Rolling rallies, protests against the Prime Minister and his cabinet are becoming the norm in Alberta and largely apolitical people, folks normally interested in just going to work and paying their bills, are getting politically motivated to change their governments.

Will the momentum for change carry through 2019? Or are people worn out, dejected and beaten down by the economy and two governments that refuse to listen?

Joining me tonight is Robbie Picard of Oil Sands Strong to discuss the Prime Minister’s insult to Canadian men in front of the international press, Rachel Notley’s cap on oil production and what the future holds for Alberta’s oil and gas workforce.
